Chulu Peak Climbing in Nepal

Chulu west Peak  climbing

Chulu East (6,584 m.) is situated high above the Manang valley with breathtaking views across to the Annapurna II, III and IV, Gangapurna, Glacier Dome, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho Peak and Manaslu. The climb is combined with the classic trek around the Annapurna massif, ascending the Marshyangdi valley and crossing the Thorong La, before descending the Kali Gandaki valley to Pokhara.

The North-East Ridge is considered the normal route to climb this peak from a Base Camp on the moraine at 5334m (17500ft). Most climbers make it to the top and back from Base Camp in one long day although some have, in the past, established a higher camp somewhere below the peak.

Although the approach up the Marshyangdi is relatively quick and involves no great altitude gain, the trek takes you through a wonderful variety of landscape and culture; from the subtropical lower reaches of the valley with its terraced fields where Gurung people dominate, to the ethnically as well as socially interesting Managba people of the upper Marsyangdi valley, crossing rhododendron and pine forests. After the ascent our route crosses the Thorung La, a 5416,m high pass before dropping to Jomsom downstream the Kali Gandaki River. We fly back to Pokhara and back to Kathmandu.

Dhampus Peak Climbing in Nepal

Dhampus Peak, also known as Thapa Peak, lies North-East of the big Dhaulagiri massif. It is in terms of climbing technicalities an easy mountain to ascent. The overwhelming altitude differences between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges make Dhampus Peak a very exposed spot to observe the scenery from. Having Tukuche Peak (6920m) and Dhaulagiri (8167m) spectacularly near you enjoy the feeling of being part of the extreme altitudes of the Himalayas. The biggest mountain range in the world with uninterrupted heights between seven and eight thousand meters, containing Annapurna -1, 2, 3 & 4, Annapurna-South, The Nilgiri and Tilicho Peak tower above the horizon in the South.

The 3500-meter ascent from Tukuche, where our climb starts, makes you feel having gone really high. The normal route to Dhampus Peak follows the west-ridge, which connects Dhampus Pass (5200m), where our highest camp is placed, with the summit. For acclimatized people we have a 6-day schedule starting from the High Plains Inn in Tukuche. For acclimatization individuals we offer various acclimatization programs, which each take an additional 4 days. An ideal combination is the trek over the 5400-meter high Thorung Pass. This expedition exceeds the 6000-meter frontier; no technical climbing skills are required. The use of crampons depends on snow conditions. This means any experience in walking on snow/ice is advisable.

Pisang Peak Climbing in Nepal

Pisang Peak is one of the non-expedition peaks in Nepal and rises opposite of Annapurna II (7937). Pisang Peak lies roughly in between the giants’ Annapurna I and Manaslu both eight thousand’s.

Pisang Peak rises above from Pisang village and yak pastures in a uniform slope of ice and snow to the final summit pyramid. This peak is considered as the easy climbing peak in Nepal. To reach the base camp from Pisang village, the path ascends through sparse wood and pasture to a Kharka at (4,380m) which is considered the best place for setting up the base camp. High Camp is set up at 5,400m climbing to a shoulder on the South-West Ridge. There will be snow at the high camp from the end of November to the end of March.

The well-defined ridge leads to the final snow slop, which is quite steep but not difficult to reach the summit. Descent is made on the same route.

This trek after all is difficult to match for its rugged mountain scenery, trekking challenges and the expose it provides on the variety of ethnic Nepalese cultures. Starting in the lowland paddy fields the trek steadily gains altitude passing through oak and pine forests and eventually emerging into high desert country at Manang (3597 m.). The descent is equally amazing and varied.

Strenuous trekking is well rewarded at both low and high altitudes, on the approach to the Thorung La (17,769 ft) as well as during the descent from it. Close up views of the Annapurna range (40 miles between the two river valleys contain at twelve 7000 m peaks and many more above the 6000m mark). Varied ecosystems, diverse cultures and an ever-changing landscape - lush, green paddy fields and oak forests, arid deserts and the deepest gorge in the world make this one of the most popular treks in the world.

Simikot, Dolpa Trekking in Nepal

Dolpo Rara Lake Trekking offers the best scenery on the north-western side of Nepal. Within its confines lie the Rara national park, the smallest park in Nepal, where in turn the country's largest lake, the Rara Lake can be found (10.8 sq. km. At 2,990 meters). Considered one of the finest parks in the world, Rara National Park abounds in coniferous forest and is the ideal habitat for the musk deer, Himalayan black bear and other faunae. The Danfe (Impeyan Pheasant) the national bird of Nepal, flies above while a variety of fish, the snow trout, inhabit the Rara lake. Adding charm to the region are its generally open-hearted and friendly people. The trek can begin in Jumla (over an hours flight from Kathmandu) or from the nearer Nepalgunj.Rara is a good destination point for trekking in the west. The trail is very much "off the beaten path" and affords glimpses of culture and scenery very different from those in the country. The centerpiece of the park is the biggest lake of Nepal. Along mountain paths and a series of picturesque villages, one reaches the magnificent banks of Rara lake. The park includes Trans- Himalayan valley with high ridges covered with forest and alpine pastures. our company Brave Heart Himalaya Treks offers following itinerary for Dolpo Rara Lake Trekking In Nepal.
